Polymers are large molecules that are composed of repeating structural units hooked together creating a long or branched chain. An example of a polymer is sodium polyacrylate (waterlock) which is super-absorbent (has the ability to absorb as much as 200 to 300 times its mass in water). Sodium polyacrylate has a wide variety of commercial and industrial uses like becoming the material used in disposable baby diapers.
