Mobile Pediatric Stander
Zone: Field House
Location: Gordon Field House and Activities Center (GOR/024) -
Time: All Day
This exhibit demonstrates a senior design groups project in which they made a wheelchair that enables a kid to stand up and power around the classroom. The stander is designed for students with cerebral palsy who have little to no ability to walk or propel themselves on their own. The coolest thing about this exhibit was that they let the public, use a remote to operate the stander in a closed off environment. The closed off place was 10ft by 10ft. I was also able to see their cerebral palsy clients using the stander, which put into perspective the reason for the design. The group had their senior design poster set up at a table as well as a non-technical poster which was kid friendly. Instructions for the kid as well as CAD files of their design was on display.
