Exhibit Code: GOR-141

Location: Gordon Field House and Activities Center (GOR/024) - Main Floor
Time: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Age Group: 7 and Up

Description:
FLIP, the Finger Lakes Interactive Play mobile visitor experience. Through web and mobile downloads, visitors to this exhibit will be able to download an app to their mobile Apple iOS devices and discover new experiences that they can take part in during future visits to historic attractions in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The FLIP app is intended to be downloaded by visitors to historical sites in the Finger Lakes before or at the start of their visit to build a more interactive experience for travelers visiting sites with traditional offerings, while adding to the interactive experiences already in place at some. Examples of augmented reality will be provided for demonstration and information about participating historic sites will be presented. Augmented reality is the use of the visitor's smart device to alter the real world environment to gain new sensory experiences not found at the museum or historic attraction. This experience will consist of 12 site-specific, mobile-based, "scavenger hunt-style experiences" in which the visitors will gain badges for answering questions and using augmented reality to gain clues while learning more about the historic site.
