Hike at Letchworth Park - Saturday, October 13th
(Letchworth is known as the 'Grand Canyon of the East') With the Rochester International Council

Be ready by 10 AM. Bus leaves at 10:20am sharp from RIT in front of SAU -- Return by 4:30 pm. Sign up in ISS required by October 9 to arrange charter bus and lunch.

Sign up now ($5 cash or check) at RIT International Student Services.

A bus will take us through the country side to visit the spectacular canyon with three waterfalls. Enjoy a picnic in the scenic park, good company, and a 1½ hour hike along the rim of the canyon to the Middle Falls. Non-refundable $5 charge required for bus and luncheon reservation. Last year the bus filled, so reserve early.

Please wear sturdy shoes to hike as it is rocky and sometimes wet; no high heels or loose sandals. Bring rain gear or an umbrella in case of bad weather. We will go, rain or shine, as the woods and the waterfalls are beautiful in any weather.

Events co-sponsored by the University of Rochester ISO & Rochester Institute of Technology ISS and approved by St. John Fisher and other area colleges

"Cyber Street Smart" Forum - Monday, October 1, 2007

I write to invite you to an exciting event this Monday, October 1st at 6:00 pm. Dr. Robert Manning, the Center for Consumer Financial Services, and the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) will host a "Cyber Street Smart" forum. The event will include a panel discussion featuring Dr. Manning and Dr. Francesco from the Business School and Dr. McQuade from Interdisciplinary Studies, along with a representative from the Office of the New York State Attorney General. The forum is apart of the statewide launch of the CyberStreetSmart.org, an innovative, powerful new website to teach consumers how to protect themselves against online frauds and scams.

The event will take place in Building 12 room 1135 in the E. Philip Saunders College of Business Lecture Hall at 6:00 pm (park in the Eleanor Gleason Circle parking lot). Refreshments will be provided. Please contact Tim Duch at tduch@nypirg.org, if you have any questions or would like to get involved.

The Center for Consumer Financial Services, directed by Dr. Robert Manning, provides a unique consumer-industry perspective of the profound changes in the retail banking industry and their impact on American society at the individual, household, community and national levels.
NYPIRG is a statewide, student directed, non-profit organization that teaches students valuable skills while working on meaningful campaigns around issues such as consumer protection, voter mobilization, and environmental sustainability.

Sincerely,
Tim Duch
