Position Summary Telecommunications Assistant provides direct support to the RIT community, the public, and the telecommunications services staff.
Responsibilities
- Provides coverage for RIT’s main number- directing callers to the correct department or person.
- Respond to repair calls to the Help Desk
- Database entry to existing system
- Ensures all keys are not removed without proper authorization
- Interact with students, faculty/staff and public on phone, in person, as well as through email
- Filing and other clerical tasks as needed: various projects
- Deliver and pick up equipment
- Demonstrate understanding of and ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Excellent telephone manner along with verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Show general knowledge of general office applications (word, excel, etc.)
- Work independently with minimal supervision with confidential information
- Manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
