ITS News

ITS eNews has changed its format slightly but continues to provide information about the many different services and products provided for campus customers. A change in some editorial contact also will be seen as we try to emphasize more information about campus-wide projects. The information included in this issue relates to a wide variety of IT projects – from mainframe upgrades to improved wireless applications, from information about the new RIT campus directory to Oracle applications.

• ITS Technology Project Updates include information about the Client Software for Mainframe Access (or Secure TN3270) Project, a reminder about Microsoft Vista and Office, the ITS Data Center Co-Location Project, Academic Wireless improvements, and an introduction to two newer projects – a portal application for Telecommunications Charges and the Data Warehouse project. • A recent article about the Condor1000 Project from Research Computing is reprinted here to introduce campus to improved high performance computing resources at RIT. (View article)
• Many of you have started to migrate your personal websites from the old environment, Grace, to the new web environment called Gibson. The migrations should be complete by February 29. (View article)
