Import e-mail into Apple Mail

The Apple Mail program can import e-mail directly form another e-mail client installed on your machine as well as from standard mbox-format files exported from another program.

This does allow importing mail from clients running in the Classic environment. Mail will import e-mail directly from Microsoft Entourage, Microsoft Outlook Express, Claris e-mailer, Netscape Communicator, and Qualcomm Eudora.

  1. Launch Apple Mail application.
  2. Select "Import Mailboxes..." from the "File" menu.

  3. Select the e-mail client you would like to import e-mail from. This client must be installed on your computer. If you have transferred saved e-mail messages from another computer as an mbox file, then select the "Standard mbox files" option.
