Import e-mail into Apple Mail
The Apple Mail program can import e-mail directly form another e-mail client installed on your machine as well as from standard mbox-format files exported from another program.
This does allow importing mail from clients running in the Classic environment. Mail will import e-mail directly from Microsoft Entourage, Microsoft Outlook Express, Claris e-mailer, Netscape Communicator, and Qualcomm Eudora.
- Launch Apple Mail application.
- Select "Import Mailboxes..." from the "File" menu.

- Select the e-mail client you would like to import e-mail from. This client must be installed on your computer. If you have transferred saved e-mail messages from another computer as an mbox file, then select the "Standard mbox files" option.

- Mail will launch the e-mail client you selected -- and the Classic environment -- if necessary.
- Select the mailboxes you wish to import from the list Mail displays or locate the mbox files you wish to import.
- Mail will copy the e-mail messages you specified into a folder named "Import" in the "On My Mac" folder in the mailbox list.

- Repeat as necessary for additional mailboxes or mbox files.
