Apple product feedback

In the past, RIT has used several methods to provide feedback to Apple about its products, and how they can better suit the campus community.

It is our general feeling that the more feedback Apple gets on a topic, the more likely topic will be examined by the company.

If you are incapable or unwilling to submit feedback yourself, and that feedback will generally benefit RIT's computing environment, ITS staff can submit it for you. This does not, in any way, imply that this takes precedence over our normal support services. In some cases, however, we do this as part of attempting to resolve regular support requests.

Apple product feedback pages

Apple maintains a Web page specifically for product feedback. If you have an idea that would make one of Apple's products better for your needs, or better for the RIT campus, you may wish to submit it.

This is probably the least technical of the ways to submit feedback to Apple, overall.

However, you should realize that all product feedback submissions to Apple become the property of that company. You should also read any and all information on the Apple product feedback pages before you decide to submit any feedback.

AppleCare product feedback

The AppleCare Higher Education technical support line can take product feedback requests, but requires a valid warranty or extended warranty (see AppleCare extended warranty) on a hardware device (such as a computer) before submitting that feedback. This requires a serial number and/or AppleCare Enrollment number.

As long as the feedback is submitted in this manner, there should be no charge.

Apple Developer Connection bug reports

While Apple Developer Connection (ADC) bug reports are often used to notify Apple that software isn't working as intended, we can also submit feature requests through this method.

ADC accounts are free (although they do require signing a standard confidentiality agreement) -- and that's all that's needed to submit these reports. There are levels of ADC accounts that require a paid yearly subscription, and provide additional benefits.
