Add attachments to a calendar event invitation in Microsoft Entourage

Microsoft Entourage allows you to send files to other people when you invite them to a calendar event. It operates the same way as adding attachments to an e-mail messages does.

The event invitation window changes to allow attachments when you begin inviting others to appointments. You will only see the "Attachments" button in the toolbar and the "Attachments" area after you have added attendees to your meeting invitation. You cannot attach files in this way to events that are purely on your own calendar.

  • Click on the "Attachments" button — it has a paper clip icon — in the event window's toolbar. This opens up an open file dialog that lets you navigate to a file or files to attach them to the event invitation.

  • Drag a file from a Finder window (or other applications, see Drag and drop a title bar proxy icon for one interesting idea) to the "Attachments" area of the event invitation window. You can expand or collapse the "Attachments" area of the window. Even when collapsed, the "Attachments" area will accept one or more dropped files.

  • Choose "Add Attachments" from the Event menu in the menu bar. An open file dialog will appear.

You should avoid sending large files on any e-mail message or event invitation; we suggest keeping the attachments' total size under 100 KB.

You may also choose to quickly remove all attachments from an event invitation by selecting "Remove All Attachments" from the Event menu.
