Forward rich text e-mail messages with Microsoft Entourage

If you receive a rich text (HTML) e-mail message that you would like to forward to another person, you should forward them using one of two methods:

  • Message menu > "Forward as Attachment" command
  • Message menu > "Redirect" command

… rather than using the regular "Forward" command. Using the normal "Forward" command will result in a forwarded message which may display HTML code, rather than the expect rich text message, on the recipient's end. Microsoft Entourage v.X and 2004, as of this writing, work the same way in this regard.

"Forward as Attachment" will send a forwarded message that is fairly normal, and which will look as if it came from you. "Redirect" will send a message identical to the one you received, and the recipient will see it as coming from the original sender, not you.

Note: "Redirect" is not available when using Entourage with an RIT Exchange account.
