Import account information into Microsoft Entourage
Microsoft Entourage can import account information from other e-mail and contact management programs. In order to import this information, your computer should have:
- the original application
- the data you want to import (in the original format used by that application).
The following instructions should apply equally well to Microsoft Entourage 2001 (for Mac OS 9) and Entourage v.X (for Mac OS X). Begin the import by launching Microsoft Entourage. Then:
- Choose "Import" from the File menu.

- Select "Import information from a program" in the window that appears, and then click on the right arrow button to move to the next step.

- Click on the name of the original program from which you are importing information, and click on the right arrow button to go to the next step. If the program's name does not appear in the list, Entourage does not have a specific importer for its information.

- Put checkmarks next to the kinds of data you want to import into Entourage, and then click on the right arrow button to move on to the next step. Some programs may support different kinds of data than are shown; Entourage attempts to import the data it understands.

The import process may take a significant amount of time. If you have a large amount of local mail and/or contacts in your previous application, it is probably wise to let the import process run overnight.
If you have problems importing data using Entourage's built-in features, you may want to try a second time, or resort to a different, more manual method of importing.
