Delete all calendar event invitations in Microsoft Entourage
You can specifically find calendar event invitations in your Inbox if you are using Microsoft Entourage 2004 or later. This is helpful if you want to:
- look for a specific meeting invitation
- see all of your event invitations
- select all of the invitations to delete every one (Entourage 2004 and earlier do not automatically remove event invitations from your Inbox after you accept or decline them, unlike Microsoft Outlook on Microsoft Windows).
Entourage 2004 lets you group messages by several different criteria. One of those criteria, "Message Status," can show you whether or not a message is:
- calendar-related
- unread
- replied to
- sent or read.
If you let event invitations pile up in your Exchange Inbox, they will count against the quota for your entire Exchange mailbox. If you exceed your quota, you will begin receiving warnings, and you will eventually lose the capability to send and then receive new messages. Therefore, you should periodically hunt for and delete old event invitations to make space for more messages and other kinds of information.
To delete all event invitations at once:
- Launch Microsoft Entourage.
- Select your Inbox from the folder list.
- "Right-click" in the "Arrange by" column header for your Inbox. A contextual menu will appear.
- Choose "Message Status" from the contextual menu. Your Inbox will now display messages sorted by status.

- Click the column header -- which toggles between "Ascending" and "Descending" -- until it displays "Ascending."
- Click once on the "Calendar" status heading in the list of messages in your Inbox. If you are arranging by "Message Status" and sorting in "Ascending" order, the "Calendar" heading will be first in your message list. Clicking the "Calendar" heading selects all of the messages under it.
- Review the messages under the heading to make sure you want to delete all of them.
- Click on the "Delete" button in the Entourage toolbar to delete the selected messages.
