Microsoft Entourage and publishing free/busy data

Microsoft Entourage v.X and 2004 do not, by themselves, publish free/busy data. Instead, they rely on the same server-side process that Outlook Web Access (OWA, at http://mymail.rit.edu/) uses to update free/busy data. By default, when you use Entourage, your free/busy data will be updated for two months into the future.

The settings for this free/busy updating process are the same for everyone at RIT, and cannot be changed on an account-by-account basis.

Therefore:

  • You cannot change the settings for how far into the future your free/busy data is published.
  • You cannot modify how quickly the free/busy data is updated after you make changes.
  • You cannot completely disable publishing free/busy data if you use Entourage (or OWA) -- nor do we recommend you do this under normal circumstances, anyway.
