Rebuild the Microsoft Entourage database
In some circumstances, you may need to rebuild the Microsoft Entourage database to clear up problems with your mail, contacts, calendar, or other data stored within.
The process is different depending on your version of Entourage:
- Rebuild the Microsoft Entourage v.X database: instructions apply to Microsoft Entourage v.X for Mac OS X as well as Microsoft Entourage 2001 for "Mac OS classic"
- "Rebuild the Microsoft Entourage 2004 database"
Note: This rebuild process can be destructive to some of the interconnectedness of data in your database -- links between contacts and messages, for example. However, it should not harm the data itself. It is the only way to resolve some otherwise unexplained problems in Entourage, but we recommend using the "typical" rebuild if possible (to preserve links) before taking the route of a "full" rebuild.
