Finder application
The Finder is the program that lets you view and manage disks, folders, and files. It is the program that controls the desktop area of your Mac OS computer system, whether you are using classic Mac OS or Mac OS X.
Classic Mac OS
When you have desktop printing software installed in classic Mac OS, the Finder also lets you manage printer queues.
Mac OS X
In Mac OS X, you manage printers using the Print Center application, not with the Finder.
