Internet Connect application
The Internet Connect application in Mac OS X provides is a central location for managing network connections that require authentication. If you must log into or out of an Internet connection, the Internet Connect application helps you do it.

As of Mac OS X 10.3, Internet Connect assists with several types of connections, not all of which are supported by or provided at RIT:
- Internal Modem, for dial-in Point to Point Protocol (PPP) connections, such as to the RIT DialIP service (and probably the most common use of Internet Connect)
- AirPort wireless networks (although most of the setup is automatic, you can use Internet Connect to make adjustments and see your connection strength)
- Bluetooth networks (typically dial-in type connections through Bluetooth-enabled cellular phones)
- 802.1x, for authenticated wireless and wired Ethernet connections
- VPN, for certain kinds of Virtual Private Network access (but not including the RIT Virtual Private Network, which currently requires a special client application from Cisco).
For troubleshooting purposes, there is an Internet Connect log that provides a historical reference for connection attempts.
