Background Information
The TN3270 terminal emulator from MochaSoft is one of the official TN3270 terminal emulators recommended by ITS at RIT. A TN3270 terminal emulator is needed to access the RIT IBM Mainframe Environment. Several critical university applications are hosted on this environment, most notably, the student record system known as STARS.
Installing the MochaSoft TN3270 terminal emulator
The .NET Framework can be obtained as an optional update from Microsoft Update or directly from the MS Download Center.

Pre-Defined Shortcuts

The installation procedure created 2 sets of application shortcuts. Both of these sets of shortcuts are available to all users of the system.

One set is located on the start menu in a folder called "Mocha TN3270", the second set is located on the "Desktop" and should be viewable by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Show the Desktop".

Both sets of shortcuts contain 2 links with the same icon - the one called "Mocha TN3270" opens the application in its default mode with no connection options set. The one called "RIT IBM Mainframe Environment" has been pre-defined to connect to the RIT IBM Mainframe Environment.
