RIT provides free virus protection software for students, staff, faculty and users dialing into RIT from home.
You may download virus protection software for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X computers below. The download links require a valid RIT computer account.
Windows computers
Warning: Please be sure to uninstall any other anti-virus software from your system before installing McAfee VirusScan for Windows.
- Viruscan Enterprise (VSE) 8.8 can be installed on Windows XP, Vista, and 7 systems.
- When installation is complete, a VSE icon will appear in your system tray.
Click here to download Viruscan Enterprise (VSE) 8.8. This will create a "C:\Viruscan Source" folder on your hard disk, download the Virusscan source files into that folder, and automatically run the Virusscan setup from there. When installation is complete, this folder can either be deleted or retained.
Mac OS X computers
