Virus Protection Software

RIT provides free virus protection software for students, staff, faculty and users dialing into RIT from home.

You may download virus protection software for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh computers below. The download links require a valid RIT computer account.

Windows computers

Warning: Please be sure to uninstall any other anti-virus software from your system before installing McAfee VirusScan for Windows.

Viruscan Enterprise (VSE) 8.5i can be installed on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista systems. Windows 95, 98 and NT are no longer supported by either McAfee or Microsoft. We recommend that any computer systems running these operating systems be upgraded.
NOTE: this is a totally silent installation. You will not see any dialogs or messages while the installer is running. When installation is complete, a VSE icon will appear in your system tray.
