Studio Classrooms At RIT, engineering lecture and laboratory experiences are being combined in innovative new formats within the studio classrooms found throughout the College of Engineering. These high-tech classrooms feature video and computer projection devices, large display screens, and hi-fi sound systems in addition to all the computers and test equipment you would find in a traditional lab. In the past, many days might have separated a lecture from its associated lab section. But the studio classroom approach integrates lecture and hands-on experience in the same room with the same teacher. For instance, a 20-minute lecture might be followed immediately by 20 minutes of hands-on lab work followed again by a 20-minute conclusion or question-and-answer period. You'll be able to reenact in-class demonstrations immediately, enhancing your learning and retention of the subject matter.
