Engineering Exploration Program If you know you're interested in engineering but are unsure about your career direction, you can enter the College of Engineering as an undeclared engineering major by enrolling in our engineering exploration program. This option lets you spend your freshman year exploring the different areas of engineering before selecting your major. During the fall quarter, you'll take a one-credit course, Introduction to Engineering, that provides an overview of RIT's engineering programs and the career opportunities in each field. Since each engineering program shares similar first-year course offerings, the course work you take as an engineering exploration student will transfer into all engineering programs without any loss of time toward graduation. Those wishing further information on the engineering exploration program should contact the Office of Student Services at 585-475-7994.
