Dr. Azarderakhsh received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Western Ontario, London, Canada. He received his M.Sc in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran. Prior to joining Computer Engineering Department at Rochester Institute of Technology, Dr. Azarderakhsh was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Applied Cryptographic Research (CACR), Department of Combinatorics and Optimization, at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Dr. Azarderakhsh was a recipient of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in 2012.

Dr. Azarderakhsh’s current research interests include elliptic curve cryptography, pairing based cryptography, cryptographic hardware/software, finite field arithmetic, post-quantum cryptography, FPGA and ASIC implementations for efficient and high-performance applications.
