On Friday, May 23th and Saturday, May 24th the Department of Computer Engineering celebrated the graduation of the class of 2014. This year the Department of Computer Engineering graduated seven MSc students, eighteen dual degree BSMS students and forty two BS students.
Being the culmination of several years of hard work, the Commencement weekend is the time of the year when graduates, their families, loved ones and the Computer Engineering faculty and staff can reminiscent on the many experiences lived over this time; the time learning how to develop advanced software, embedded systems, integrated circuits, networks and high performance architectures, the time studying and enduring exams, assignments and labs. How to avoid thinking about the time debugging that senior project or that moment when exclaiming “It works!”? This is the time to look around and see all the friends made at RIT: classmates, student activities group mates and the CE faculty and staff. And, how about those coop experiences at companies like Mircrosoft, Apple, Intel, Harris, IBM, AMD, Qualcomm, Lockheed Martin, Critical Link, Synaptics, SPARTA, BAE Systems, iRobots, Sensis, and many more, that had opened the graduates’ horizons for the world after graduation?
The Commencement weekend is the end of a chapter in the graduates’ career but it is also the time to look forward towards the bright future ahead for CE graduates. All the faculty and staff at the Department of Computer Engineering is proud of this year’s graduates achievements and wish them the best of successes in their future endeavors! Congratulations!
