Donald D. Baker is the Executive Director of the John D. Hromi Center for Quality and Applied Statistics at RIT. He is a consultant with industry, service, healthcare and educational institutions in the areas of process improvement, quality standards and the assessment of quality systems. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He has worked with numerous organizations to implement their Lean Six Sigma program and also has guided many others in developing quality systems and documentation for registration under the ISO 9001 Quality Standards. He is a member of the US TAG to the ISO/TC 176 Committee, and a former Lead Reviewer and Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Empire State Advantage: Excellence at Work program (formerly the Excelsior Program). He has been the Lead Reviewer for a number of private, educational, and healthcare organizations that have applied for the New York State ESA Program and Governor's Award for Excellence, which were based on the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. He also has served as a Judge for the Ohio Quality Award Program and been a certified Quality System Auditor through the RABQSA International.

Dr. Baker previously was Dean of RIT's College of Continuing Education as well as Associate Dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology, Director of the graduate program in Career and Human Resource Development and Director of the Counseling Center. He also served as a Senior Associate with the National Center on Education and the Economy while on leave from RIT.

Dr. Baker received his BA in English from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and the MEd, EdD and MBA from the University of Rochester. He was elected a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Society and is an honorary member of the Senate of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
