Vincenzo Buonomo is a program manager at
the Center for Excellence in Lean Enterprise (CELE) at the
Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) Center for
Integrated Manufacturing Studies (CIMS). Mr. Buonomo is responsible
for helping companies understand and apply lean implementation
techniques through assessments, workshops, and focused improvement
(kaizen) events. Mr. Buonomo comes to CELE with over nine
years of training and consulting experience in quality system
management, facility planning, and ergonomics. Mr. Buonomo
has worked with over 70 companies, including small, medium,
and Fortune 500 customers from a variety of industries, to
improve their business. His project experience includes ISO/QS/TE
9000 auditing, consulting and training; assessments in manufacturing
and service environments; cellular manufacturing; database
development; ergonomics; facility planning & layout; flow
analysis; lean manufacturing; process improvements; process
monitoring; quality control; safety & health; statistical
process control; training programs; and work measurement.
Previous to CIMS, Mr. Buonomo was an engineer in the Aerospace
Quality department at Lord Corporation in Erie, Pennsylvania
where he was responsible for projects involving statistical
studies and process improvements.
Mr. Buonomo holds a ME degree in Manufacturing Engineering
and a BS in Industrial Engineering from RIT. He is an ASQ
Certified Quality Engineer. He is a member of the Institute
of Industrial Engineers, American Society of Quality, and
APICS.
