8th Annual Lean Six Sigma Conference
The 8th annual RIT CQAS Lean Six Sigma conference was held on March 27, 2014 at The Lodge at Welch Allyn in Skaneateles Falls, NY. Over 100 attendees representing 25 organizations came together to hear and benefit from experienced Continuous Improvement Champions working in several industry sectors including Healthcare, Product Development, IT, Higher Education, Manufacturing, and Business Services. The conference presenters shared their experiences in several critical Lean Six Sigma implementation topics including developing an organizational deployment structure, working with senior leadership to identify high priority projects, developing a workforce training plan, motivating and communicating with the workforce and implementing the initiative on a global scale among others. Included in the day’s activities was a tour of the Welch Allyn facility to demonstrate Lean Six Sigma practices in manufacturing, materials management/procurement, product development and manufacturing engineering.
“No matter what industry, the Lean Six Sigma & DMAIC Process can be applied outside the manufacturing industry.”
Thomas E. Braga
Continuous Improvement/Engineering/Quality Coordinator
“The most interesting and informative topics from the conference was the real word applications in a non-manufacturing environment, specifically office/transaction. Also, the methods used to get employee buy-in and engagement”
