Advanced Statistical Process Control

To satisfy customer demands while remaining competitive, today’s quality control programs need to be based on processes that are stable and predictable. Statistical Process Control (SPC) provides the means for the scientific control of product quality.

As the quality practitioner progresses in experience, it becomes clear that basic control charts are not sufficient to solve all problems. Sometimes a more sophisticated chart, like EWMA and CUSUM, is needed. Sometimes a different technique, like designed experiments, is required.

This course is intended to extend the knowledge of the quality person to the next level of statistical application. This course assumes a basic understanding of SPC. 2.1 CEUs

Topics include:

  • Review of basic control charts
  • Moving average and moving range
  • CUSUM and EWMA control chart
  • Charts for short runs
  • Modified Limits
  • Advanced statistical tests
  • Basic experimental design
  • Analysis of means
  • Advanced capability studies

How you will benefit:

  • Learn the elements of statistical process control systems
  • Find out the limitations of basic SPC and when more sophisticated techniques apply
  • See what computer software can do to simplify calculations
  • Learn how to use SPC with short production runs

Cost

$895. This includes continental breakfast and lunch on all three days. Participants will also receive Process Quality Control by Ott, Schilling and Neubauer.
