Minor in Microelectronics (KGCOE-MICNAN-MI)

Minor Adviser: Dr. Robert Pearson

A minor in Microelectronic Engineering is designed to provide basic integrated circuit fabrication skills to students from science and other engineering disciplines whose career path may involve the semiconductor industry. RIT has arguably, one of the finest cleanrooms in the world specializing in undergraduate microelectronic education. A minor in Microelectronic Engineering represents a simple way for students to take
advantage of the existence of these unique facilities and courses while at RIT.

Prerequisites:

MATH-182 Project-Based Calculus II
PHYS-212 University Physics II

Required Courses:

MCEE-201  I C Technology
MCEE-503  Thin Films (upper division course co-listed with a graduate
version)

Electives (students can use their free elective or professional elective slot for these courses):

A minimum of three additional courses are required. Students may choose from the list of Microelectronic Engineering courses given below or petition to have other courses such as a Design of Experiments course or a Semiconductor Devices course from their major considered as their elective courses. Students may also follow special interest tracks as suggested below:
