The Auto Design Lab is the home of the RIT Formula SAE Racing Team. Known as the "Team Room" to members on the team, it is exclusive club space for the Formula SAE team to support the development of the Formula SAE car. The Formula SAE Racing team is a group of students that engineers and builds a small open-wheeled racecar to compete against other schools from around the world. The team stores its tools, spare parts, and cars in this room. It is also where the car is assembled for the first time and maintained through the course of the racing season. The Formula SAE Team is open to any interested students of any major. Dr. Alan Nye manages this lab along with the students in the RIT Formula SAE Team.
