The Bioengineering Lab is a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory that serves as a shared research and teaching laboratory for biomedical research in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The laboratory is a wet lab facility for research projects related to Cellular Biomechanics, Particle Deposition in the Respiratory Tract, Cardiovascular Biomechanics, and Ventricular Assist Devices with specific biosafety needs. Ongoing research related to Biomimetic Robotics is also conducted in the facility. The lab is utilized for laboratory components of the Contemporary Issues in Bioengineering and Introduction to Biomaterials courses in the department. Dr. Kathleen Lamkin-Kennard manages this lab
