Machine Tool Lab

Location
Machine Tool Lab
GLE-2360

This is a required lab for all freshman and transfer students as well as grad students wishing to use the machine shop to build thesis apparatus. The introductory course sets the safety guidelines and teaches students the basics of machine tool operation. The lab becomes important while in school in order to build required projects. After graduation, any experience in building projects as well designing them becomes invaluable in terms of securing that initial position. The quality of the design work is also improved. Designing with the eventual production of a part or assembly in mind brings a holistic approach that should produce consistently superior work. Mr. David Hathaway manages this lab.

Equipment in the Lab
