The metrology lab has instruments that enable precise measurements of manufactured parts. The lab enables parts to be inspected and compared to tolerances specified by the designer.  Instruments such as height gauges and micrometers are used to measure and compare parts.

Dr. Denis Cormier conducts additive manufacturing research in this lab. Various types of 3D printers are used to research additive manufacturing processes.

Senior Design teams use the lab to prototype parts for their projects.

The Formula SAE team uses the lab to inspect parts to ensure that they will fit with the other parts on the car.
