Graduate Programs

Graduate StudentThe Kate Gleason College of Engineering offers comprehensive, innovative graduate programs in a range of engineering disciplines. Programs include the traditional master of science (MS) degree and the master of engineering (MEng) degree as well as an interdisciplinary degree coordinated with RIT's College of Science. In addition, we are proud to offer the nation's only Ph.D. program in microsystems engineering.

The master of science degree comprises significant independent study and/or research and leads to employment in engineering in an industrial environment or to further graduate study at the doctoral level. The master of engineering degree, by contrast, is primarily a terminal master's program that prepares graduates for leadership positions in industry. In the MEng programs, an engineering case study or industrial project is required in place of a traditional thesis.

The Kate Gleason College of Engineering is also home to The John D. Hromi Center for Quality and Applied Statistics, which has achieved international recognition for excellence in the fields of quality management and applied statistics.
