Industrial Engineering Minor

Purpose
A minor in Industrial Engineering would focus on the design, improvement and installation of integrated systems of people, material, equipment, and energy, utilizing skills in statistics, ergonomics, operations research, and manufacturing. The object would be to provide a background in areas commonly needed in this area.

Eligibility
All matriculated undergraduates in engineering and engineering-related programs (i.e., consistent with math/science requirements), except industrial engineering students.

Policies and Procedures
Minor will be consistent with all Institute-level policies pertaining to minors (Policies and Procedures manual D 1.1.)

Program Prerequisites
Engineering Statistics (1016-314) or equivalent Boundary Value Problems and Matrices (1016-318) or Engineering Math (1016-328) or Matrix Algebra (1016-331) or equivalent.

Curriculum
The Industrial Engineering minor will consist of 20 credit hours, three core courses and two elective courses.
