Message from Dr. Crassidis:
Welcome to RIT and to the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering here at the Kate Gleason College of Engineering! I would like to congratulate you on being accepted to a highly sought after and innovative graduate degree. You are entering a rigorous and demanding program that will both challenge you and excite you in the field of Mechanical Engineering at the graduate level. It is our hope and belief that our program will provide you an opportunity to excel in your upcoming professional career and/or promote your current career path. Our unique program is based on RIT’s core belief in offering world-class hands-on engineering education through two Master’s degree program offerings: a Master of Engineering (MEng) and Master of Science (MS). Through the MEng program you will learn skills to prepare you for engineering leadership positions in industry, engineering firms, government labs, etc. Through the MS program you will gain research knowledge on cutting-edge technology as preparatory skills for entrance into a PhD program in engineering. Both programs offer unique focus areas to customize your individual preferences and area of studies within Mechanical Engineering. It is our hope that your academic career at RIT will prove to be both enjoyable and enriching. To start your career at RIT off on the right foot I encourage you to browse through our website for information about our program. I look forward to seeing and meeting with you soon.
If you have never seen snow before you are in for a treat! Please be sure you have a very warm insulated jacket. The average temperature last winter was 25 degrees!! A winter hat, gloves, scarf and winter boots will be very useful in the cold weather.
