Graduate Prearrival

Message from Dr. Schrlau:

Welcome to the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I would like to congratulate you on being accepted into our innovative and highly sought after graduate degree program. Our rigorous and demanding program is both challenging and exciting, building and strengthening the skills needed to excel in your professional career. Our unique program is based on RIT’s core belief in offering world-class hands-on engineering education through two Master’s degree options: Master of Engineering (MEng) and Master of Science (MS). Through the MEng program you will learn skills to prepare you for engineering leadership positions in industry, engineering firms, government labs, etc. Through the MS program you will gain research knowledge on cutting-edge technology as preparatory skills for entrance into a PhD program in engineering. Both programs offer unique focus areas to customize your individual preferences and area of studies within Mechanical Engineering. It is our hope that your time at RIT will prove to be both enriching and enjoyable. To get started, I encourage you to browse through our website for information about our program. I look forward to seeing you at RIT soon!
