Description/Projects:
The lab houses equipment for advanced characterization and preparation
of engineered materials as well as space for meeting and learning. Materials
preparation equipment includes a weighing balance, high speed mixer-mill,
low-speed precision saw, and semi-automatic pellet press. Materials characterization
equipment includes scanning probe microscopy, x-ray diffraction, quantitative
microscopy, digital imaging, and hardness testing.
People involved:
Professor Gupta is in charge of the Advanced Materials Lab. Graduate students
and faculty from many departments use the lab for their projects.
Other departments/agencies:
The lab serves students and faculty from the departments of mechanical
engineering, microelectronic engineering, physics, chemistry, materials
science, and printing as well as the area industry.
