Dr. Hany Ghoneim received his B.S. and M.S in from Cairo University, Egypt, and his Ph.D. Rutgers the State University of NJ. His dissertation title was:: Constitutive modeling of viscoelastic-viscoplastic materials, and their finite element implementation. Dr. Ghoneim also did a Post-Doctoral Fellowship: Department of Plastics Research and Engineering, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ.
Dr. Ghoneim joined AT&T Bell laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ, for two years, then moved to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Currently, he is a full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at RIT. During the summers, he joined many research and development laboratories including IBM, Edward Air Force, Cornell Injection Molding Laboratories, and Lord Incorporation. He supervised dozens of Master Theses, published dozens of technical journal papers, and presented many conference papers in the fields of: thermo-viscoplasticity, novel vibration damping and control, and novel composite structural components. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Vibration and Control. He received the Eisenhart Award of Outstanding Teaching at RIT in 2001.
