Mechanical Engineering Masters of Engineering Program Educational Outcomes

Student outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the skills, knowledge, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program. Graduates of the Master of Engineering degree program in Mechanical Engineering will, by the time of graduation:

  •  Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge of mechanical engineering,
  •  Demonstrate a depth of knowledge in a chosen focus area, inside or outside of mechanical engineering,
  •  Demonstrate knowledge of contemporary issues in their chosen focus area,
  •  Demonstrate the ability to independently complete a technical project.

Mechanical Engineering Masters of Science Program Educational Outcomes

Student outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the skills, knowledge, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program. Graduates of the Master of Science degree program in Mechanical Engineering will, by the time of graduation:

  •  Demonstrate a depth of knowledge of mechanical engineering
  •  Complete an independent research project, resulting in at least a thesis publication
  •  Demonstrate knowledge of contemporary issues in their chosen field of research
  •  Demonstrate an ability to defend their research work to a panel of experts
