Admission

Admissions into the Microsystems Engineering PhD program is competitive and is based on a students background and his/her potential. Students who seek admission to the program can apply on-line or by mail though RIT's Graduate Admissions Office. Qualified students must have undergraduate preparation in the physical sciences or engineering along with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in a Bachelor of Science degree or a 3.5 or higher in a Master of Science degree. Proficiency on the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) is required with a score of at least 1200 in the Verbal and Quantitative Sections and a 3.0 in the Writing Section. A score of 600 or better is required for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), where applicable. Three reference letters are required from individuals well qualified to judge the ability of the individual for graduate study and research.

Admission decisions are made by the Microsystems Engineering admissions committee, comprised of core faculty in the program.
