............Our group is developing high performance nanophotonic devices on a silicon chip. Silicon is the ideal material for on-chip optical interconnects because of its mature use in the electronics industry, thus offering the possibility to monolithically integrate both photonic and electronic functionalities all on one chip.This will enable unprecedented performance and efficiency by leveraging the inherently high bandwidths of photons and low-power operation of nanophotonic devices.
