Mark Smith is Director of Multidisciplinary Programs in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering at RIT.  In this capacity he is responsible for graduate programs in Product Development and Manufacturing Leadership, as well as certificates and other customized course offerings for corporate clients.  In addition, he is serving as Interim Director of the Center for Quality & Applied Statistics. He also directs the Multidisciplinary Senior Design capstone program which provides a project-based learning experience for 5th-year engineering students.  Prior to joining RIT in 1998, he spent nearly 20 years in medical electronics R&D, first with Sybron Medical Products, then as co-founder and VP for a small medical monitoring company, and finally as Product Development Manager for Kodak’s Cardiology electronics business.  Mr. Smith has a BS in Engineering Science from the University of Virginia and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
