The Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) provides faculty, staff and students with the latest developer tools, servers, and platforms from Microsoft at a very low cost. As a member department, we may install the software on our lab machines for instructional and research purposes, and faculty, staff and students are permitted to install the software on their personal computers.
The program helps us keep our labs, faculty, staff and students on the leading edge of technology.
What software is available?
To see what software is available to us as a member department:
- Go to the MSDN Subscriptions Web Page.
- Click on the "Shipment Contents" tab.
- Select "MSDN Academic Alliance" as the "Subscription Level" and click "Get Shipment Contents".
Note: Microsoft Office is not available through ELMS. You must purchase that software elsewhere.
How do I obtain software?
Software can be obtained by visiting the ELMS for MSDNAA Web Site for our department. Only the software that is in highest demand is made available online. If you don't see a software title listed that you wish to use, please contact Charles J. Gruener and it will put online.
For the software that is available online, there are two methods of delivery.
- CD-Checkout
- You request to borrow the CD from Charles J. Gruener
- Online Download
- A secure download of the software directly to you
What credentials do I use to login?
The username and password used to logon to the ELMS for MSDNAA system is your DCE password. This is the same username and password that you use to get your official RIT email.
