Q:  I have taken some extra courses for a minor, will they count towards 'free electives'?
 
A:   If you choose the new curriculum, these courses may be counted towards 'free electives'.
 
 
Q:   If I have taken both Writing and Lit I and II and would like to move into the new curriculum?
 
A:   Writing and Lit I will count for the new Writing course, 0502-227. Writing and Lit II can be used to count for the Arts of Expression requirement, or one of the two required humanities courses or as a free elective.
 
 
Q:   If I have already taken Chemistry of Materials course and would like to opt for the NEW curriculum?
 
A:   This course may be counted towards a free elective.
 
 
Q:   I have taken Physics I,II, III courses with 5 credits each. Will extra 3 credits count if I choose the new curriculum?
 
A:   These extra credits will show on the transcript. However, will not substitute for a course.
 
 
Q:   If I have taken EM Fields I and II (0301-473, 474)?
 
A:   EM Fields I (0301-473) will substitute for Principles of EM Fields 0305-515 and EM Field II (0301-474) will be treated as a free elective
 
 
Q:   If I have taken EM Fields I (0301-473) and not EM Fields II (0301-474), will EM Fields I substitute for Principles of EM Field I?
 
A:   Yes
 
 
Q:   I will be a fifth year student in the fall 20051. Do I have to take 0305-655?
 
A:   If you decide to choose the new curriculum, you do not have to take this course. However, you may take it as a professional elective. If you decide to stay with the old curriculum, you would need to take this course.
 
 
Q:   I will be a fifth year student in the fall 20051. Do I take 0305-680-690 or 681-691?
 
A:   If you decide to choose the new curriculum, you will have to take 681 and 691. If you decide to stay with the old curriculum, you will take 680-690.
