Sankha received his B.E. digree in Electroncis Engineering form KITS Ramtek, India in 2001. Subsequently he worked as an intern at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur form September 2001 to April 2002 wherein he worked on several optimization problems. He received his M.S. degree form the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2004. For his masters he worked on the modeling of trap-dependent current collapse in silicon carbide MESFETs.

He is currently in the Ph.D. program at the Rochester Institute of Technology and is working on spin-based memory devices.
