Author of Hidden Figures Speaking at MCC

Margot Lee Shetterly, author of Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race, is visiting MCC on May 3rd. Shetterly will be presenting the keynote address of MCC's annual Scholar's Day.

Originally from Hampton, Virginia, Margot Lee Shetterly is a journalist, author and entrepreneur. She is also the recipient of a Virginia Foundation for the Humanities grant for her research in women in computing. In addition, Shetterly is an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellow and her book Hidden Figures is a NY Times bestseller for nonfiction. You may recognize the book's title by the movie adaption that went to theaters in early 2017.

The fee for the event, $10, will include a discounted ticket and transportation to the event.

The bus will leave from J-lot at 6:15pm.
