In
Memory of Rob Roy Kelly
Dear
Colleagues, Students, Friends and the Kelly Family,
We lost one of the last of a generation of pioneers of graphic
design education. Rob Roy Kelly passed away in Tempe, Arizona
on Friday, 23 January 2004, at age 78.
Rob
developed some of the best graphic design programs at schools
nationwide, many of which became a blueprint for programs
at other schools. These schools were influenced by his innovative
ideas on formalism, teaching, and curriculum development.
Rob had a disciplined and an unflinching vision of what constitutes
excellence in teaching graphic design. Rob Roy Kelly is greatly
missed by all of us, but he will never be forgotten.
