Sulfur linked to global deaths from shipping

Findings of an RIT-University of Delaware study published in Environmental Science & Technology link sulfur in shipping fuel to mortality rates in coastal areas. Reducing sulfur content in fuel to 0.5 percent would cut fatalities nearly in half, says James Winebrake, chair of science, technology and public policy at RIT.
