He has examined different visual illusions with the aim of understanding the perception of structure in the world and is currently researching the perception of faces and facial expressions. Herbert also has a longstanding interest in how we perceive color and objects, and plans to pursue research in these areas at some point. Herbert graduated with a B.Sc. in Biology from McGill University in Montreal and completed an M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Western Ontario. Before joining RIT’s faculty in 2002, he spent three years at the University of North Texas, as director of the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab in the Department of Psychology. |
