Tracy Freas is a senior staff engineer and team leader for the Occupational Safety and Ergonomic Excellence Program in the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at RIT. Freas provides ergonomics assessments and training to companies in New York State and has performed ergonomic and health & safety assessments and training sessions for over 70 manufacturing, retail and health care facilities, training over 700 individuals. In addition, Freas manages the Workplace Ergonomics Lab at RIT, which provides ergonomics assistance and training for the RIT community. Through this program, she has developed an office ergonomics guidelines brochure, and has provided training to office workers, custodial staff, food service, grounds crew and printing staff. Prior to joining RIT, Freas served as an office ergonomics consultant for Eastman Kodak Company, conducting over 100 ergonomics consultations. Freas also assisted in writing the company’s chair purchasing standard. Freas holds an M.S. in manufacturing management leadership and a B.S. in industrial and systems engineering, both from RIT.
