Michelle Schrouder is an expert on health, wellness and fitness-related topics. She is the assistant director/wellness, where she oversees a program geared to keep students, faculty and staff healthy through more than 150 course offerings per quarter.

Classes fall into the following categories: Health and Wellness Seminars, Dance, Fitness, Health and Safety, Lifetime Recreation, Interactive Adventures and Martial Arts. At RIT, she is a member of the Smoking Cessation Task Force, the Student Affairs Assessment Committee, the Health-Wellness Alliance and the Better Me Employee Health and Fitness Committee.

She has a bachelor’s in psychology from St. Bonaventure University (Division I Soccer Scholarship) and a master's in counseling from University of Rochester. She is a certified Lifestyle Counselor in Stress and Weight Management, a certified healthy behaviors coach through the Cooper Institute and a certified Wellness Program Manager through the National Wellness Institute and Summex Health Management. Schrouder is also a certified Group Fitness Instructor (AFAA), kickboxing instructor (TurboKick) and Aqua Instructor (Fit Motivation).

She was a presenter at the National Wellness Conference, in July 2006, in Stevens Point, Wis., to showcase the outcome of the 4th annual RIT Health Challenge. Schrouder has also been the Behavioral Therapist for the past nine years for Via Health's Nutrition and Weight Management Program and works as a consultant to assist local companies to get worksite wellness programs established.
