Andrew Moore is an expert in archeology and its significance for human understanding, the beginning of farming in Western Asia and the development of early agricultural societies across the world.

He is the author of Village on the Euphrates (2000), a culmination of nearly 30 years of research that identifies a site in Syria as bearing the earliest known evidence of early farming.

Moore’s archaeological research has focused on the transition from hunting and gathering to farming in Western Asia, and the spread of a farming way of life to adjacent continents.

He holds bachelor’s masters and doctorate of philosophy degrees from University of Oxford and a diploma in archaeology from University of London.
